Comfortable and safe on the curve

This refers to the new COMPAC curved conveyor belt with domed-roof which comfortable transports the passengers around the curve without the inconvenience of having to step form one conveyor belt to another. The curve is the difference between the standard conveyor belt and the one described here. This new innovation has been installed at Rauz am Arlberg in the Stubai Alps for the winter 2005/2006.

This conveyor belt moves passengers to the new 6-chair lift „Valfaghert“ (Leitner), its access conveyor belt is a product of the Company COMPAC.
Werner Rainer, manager of the Italian conveyor belt producer COMPAC:
“That’s the 1st time we build a conveyor belt with curve, and that the guest can get from the 1st conveyor belt to the next one, without to change.
There are 2 conveyor belts, but the passenger comes round the curve to the next conveyor belt.
This curve solves also the problem of steep ground (ca. 90° curve) in Arlberg.
The alternative could be a long, straight conveyor belt, that moves passengers uphill, that is only possible for the considered inclination of 20%.
Our expert dealt with this problem on the alp Rauz in Stuben, and the result is the conveyor belt with curve and dome. We already applied for the patent.
This special conveyor belt moves 1.700 persons/h and relieves the load on of the ski tow “Rauzlift” to the new 6-chair lift Valfaghert“ (Leitner).

Stable and statically calculated dome

In addiction to the extra wide emergency exit and the lateral footway we have the innovative and helpful uphill access through this stable and statically calculated dome.
Rainer: The dome of our new conveyor belt in the area of the “Rauzlift” in Stuben consists of polycarbonate (synthetics), and that’s fundamentally a statically calculated dome that can stand snow masses and strong wind.
That’s like a light tank that can stand 100km/h wind, the anchoring in the ground has been seen to.
The dome was built according to the security regulations: the foundation consists of steel, not of aluminium.
The remaining parts of the new conveyor belt with curve and dome comply with the classic COMPAC-children conveyor belts: modular construction, innovative conveyor mat (no slip back if regularly maintained), according to the strict security regulations, etc.
The new conveyor belt with curve and dome in Atubai/Alps Rauz in Arlberg has three emergency exits each belt and two emergency exits in the curve.
The conveyor belt hast also film cameras with intercom and the necessary systems at the entrance and the exit.
The new COMPAC factory is already manufacturing this conveyor–innovation for the Stubner mountain railway.

The new company building

The Italian company COMPAC moved in august 2005 to Colle Isarco.
The company area comprises nearly 12.000 m².
On this ground are a modern equipped office, a big factory hall with a well-stocked store as well as a free space of ca. 4.000 m².
16 employees earned last and this year through a very good management a considerable increase in turnover: we build this year much more conveyor belt than last year.
That’s Thanks to our innovation: so comes e. g our emergency exit for conveyor belts we showed at the INTERALPIN 2005 fair.
For the winter season 2005/2006 we delivered two children conveyor belts (1 x 200 m, 1 x 12 m) for the new “Murmli Park”, a children park in the middle of Serfaus.
